FAQ: Animal-Assisted Intervention
In the animal-assisted training sessions and seminars, participants work alongside farm animals from the St. Martins estate. Through direct interaction with the animals, topics such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and self-awareness come to life in a unique way. These sessions are led by experts and combine interaction with animals, the farm experience, and personal development.
The ST. MARTINS Business Lodge is also certified by Greencare as an agricultural facility for animal-assisted interventions and as a retreat farm. This means you can book seminars here that involve specially certified chickens, goats, sheep, and donkeys. The animals act as a kind of co-trainer, providing excellent support on many topics and helping participants focus on the team and their inner selves!
Depending on the topic and time available, various programs and packages are offered. For example, a half-day team training and team-building session takes place with the chickens. After a short presentation, participants learn about clicker training and why it relates to the way we communicate. You actually learn how to get a chicken to roll a die or knock over a cone, for example. Once you’ve managed that, you’ll have a better understanding of what’s often missing in interpersonal communication.
